Fixes for Watch Dogs Crashes, Disrupt_b64 Error, Black Textures, No Sound, Invalid Codes, Not Starting

These are early fixes for Watch Dogs crashes, errors, sound issues, texture glitches, and DLC bugs for the PC, Xbox One, and PS3. As the launch unfolds this week, our team will be making a follow up post to help you solve other issues such as framerates and lagging. PC users should check our guide to checking if your PC can run Watch Dogs. For now, we present to you our list of known fixes:

1. Watch Dogs PC Code will not Work – “This code is not Valid”

If the code came with your Nvidia Geforce GTX purchase, the code should be redeemed on Nvidia website:
http://www.geforce.com/games-applications/pc-games/watch-dogs/bundle/redeem-code
Follow the steps on the website, then you will receive the Watch Dogs UPlay key that is redeemable on UPlay.

2. Watch Dogs PC disrupt_b64.dll Error

If this particular dll is causing you crashes, you can try the following:
  • Update your drivers to the latest version.
  • Are you using an ATI video card? Disable Crossfire in Catalyst. Nvidia users should try disabling their SLI equivalent.
  • Temporarily shut off your anti-virus program while running Watch Dogs on the PC.

3. Watch Dogs PC crashes during the intro video or after a few minutes of gameplay

  • The first thing you should do is to use the “repair game” function (instead of pressing “Play”) in UPlay.
  • Next, make sure you are using the latest drivers for your ATI or Nvidia video cards. Most of those with early copies fixed their Watch Dogs by simply updating drivers.

4. Watch Dogs PC has missing or black textures

Quite a funny issue because this one turns NPC faces to ink black! To fix this, use the “Verify Integrity of Game Cache” function on Steam or the “repair game” function on UPlay. If you need help doing this, just let us know in the comments below so we can provide more detail.

5. Watch Dogs PC has no sound with Dolby Digital Live 5.1

A known issue and a fix will be rolled out soon, but for now, use 16bits 44100hz.

6. Watch Dogs is not showing up on my games list

Not too big of an issue — most users get this early in the launch period because times vary between regional launches. Give it a few days, probably until the 31st, and this will fix itself.

7. Xbox One Watch Dogs Crash / Not Starting

Most probably, you are getting an error such as “WATCH_DOGS has taken too long to start. 0x8027025a”
If you have this type of error – fully shutdown the console, wait a minute or so and turn it back on and try running Watch Dogs again.

8. PS3 Watch Dogs DLC codes invalid

You probably got an early copy of the game. Please wait until Tuesday, if they do not work by then please contact your retailer.
Again, these are very early known fixes, so watch out for our follow up post with more detailed solutions! Let us know in the comments below if you continue to experience Watch Dogs crashes, errors, and other bugs and glitches so we can look for more information to help you.
